| If the body
truly is our temple, then wouldn't we want to learn
to be fully in it? And what is in our way? The usual,
of course, nothing but ourselves; specifically, the
ways in which our egos have learned or had to separate
us from things (which happens to absolutely all of us).
There are many consequences of living so long with all
these dis-connections accumulated within our bodies,
hearts and minds. Yet in this class I am not taking
on the ego. I am simply and surely delivering the teachings
of this extraordinary body- oriented movement practice,
focusing on the important basics of the 5Rhythms.
Through time and repetition
dancing the 5Rhythms, bone by bone, muscle to muscle,
breath to breath, three things organically emerge,
three things that bridge separate-ness to connected-ness,
three things that deliver us wholly into ourselves:
instinct, authenticity and intuition. Beyond the uplifting
renewal of dancing for ninety minutes through a wave,
the larger goal of these moving meditations is to
cultivate our instinctual bodies, claim and re-claim
our authentic selves and bring intuition fully into
the experience of our lives.
This class delivers the elements
of the 5Rhythms necessary to infuse the experience
of Sweat Your Prayers with the complete ability to
transform lives. Not always, not always completely,
but always available. With the 5Rhythms in your bones,
Sweat Your Prayers becomes a prayer that has less
to do with you in all your personal situations, and
more to do with passion, radical acceptance and deep
healing... of you and of everything.
Your dance is about your true
self, meant to be like, feel like and look like nothing
besides your true self. I know of nothing more important
